Jacqueline R. Valencia
Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW - R)
Jacqueline Valencia Rodriguez joins The Balanced Therapy as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than two decades of clinical experience in marriage and family therapy, couples work, and adolescent and family treatment. She holds active LCSW-R licensure in Florida (and New York), bringing a depth of training and a steady, relational approach to the clients she serves.
Bilingual and bicultural with Colombian roots, Jacqueline provides therapy fluently in both Spanish and English. Her cultural fluency runs through her entire career—from early work with Latino youth and families in New York to her practice serving bicultural and multi-generational families across South Florida—and makes her a natural fit for the diverse community The Balanced Therapy serves.
Her clinical training carries a distinguished lineage. Jacqueline completed post-graduate training at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, where she collaborated with renowned clinician Peggy Papp on the study of adolescent depression and its impact on family systems. She works from a multi-generational, multisystemic family framework, with particular experience in eating disorders, codependency, substance and alcohol dependency, mood disorders, relationship distress, and postpartum well-being.
A SIFI-certified clinical supervisor, Jacqueline has spent much of her career training and mentoring therapists, clinical social workers, and graduate candidates—helping clinicians build sound therapeutic skills while upholding strong ethical standards. She is also a Certified Domestic Violence Clinician and a Certified HIV Rapid Testing Counselor.
Warm, experienced, and prevention-minded, Jacqueline helps clients build mindful awareness, healthier patterns, and more secure connections—supporting resilience and emotional well-being at every stage of life.
